Leon’s Full Service has been welcomed with open arms by the locals in Decatur, and I had a chance to check it out with some friends.

The folks over at Brick Store Pub have done an excellent job transforming the former service station into  a restaurant with a large bar and restaurant with beautiful woodwork and oversized windows looking out to downtown Decatur.

Featured brews take center stage, in addition to an array of glassware for your drinking pleasure.

To those familiar with the Brick Store, an expansive beer selection certainly isn’t a surprise. What did surprise me were the cocktails. I tried a few of them, the whiskey apple( wathens small batch bourbon, apple pie liqueur, dupont pommeau, whiskey barrel-aged bitters) being my favorite.

I was there mostly to drink, but I did try a couple of things off the menu, the burger being my favorite.

(white oak pastures grass-fed burger, tillamook cheddar, catsup & mustard, bread and butter pickles)

pig smörgås, benton’s country ham, melted gruyere grand cru, cherry jam, pineapple on toast

radish, buttered, salted / warm chickpea & cherry salad, basil, aged provolone, red wine vinaigrette

I also just wanted to send a thanks to all the kind words sent via e-mail, comments, tweets,  and posts about my new blog. I’m having a great time doing it and glad that you’re enjoying it too, and if you’re on twitter — please follow us!
