You’ve heard it before… an Atlanta transplant complaining about food that’s infinitely superior back home than it is here in the Peach State. Whether it be a good cheesesteak, fish taco, bagel (me!) or a fine pizza pie. One person can’t tackle it all, however one transplant hopes to give a crack at the latter.

Having been featured in both the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the New York Times , his New York pizza recipe has given him acclaim on the Internet and has been hosting private parties in his home, perfecting his recipe, and plans to launch his own pizzeria in Buckhead next month.

So after a few scheduling conflicts, myself and around 15 other hungry folks were given the opportunity to try out a variety of pizzas that will be available at Varasano’s Pizzeria on Peachtree Road next month. From everything I’d heard from others who’d been in the past, I’d be in for a treat, and of course they were right.

Pizzas pop out of the oven as fast as they go in, around every two minutes are so. Fresh ingredients, light crust served up hot.

The char on the outside of the crust gives it some great character and a calzone that was presented showed it off perfectly.
