P’Cheen arrived on the scene years before gastropub became a buzzword in Atlanta. Despite being located at the base of an apartment complex on Highland Ave., its got a cool vibe and uses its space well. The official name is P’Cheen International Bistro & Pub (breathe!) and the menu is literally all over the map. I originally visited a few years ago in what was a much smaller space and I could literally look down on the preparation of my food from my bar stool.

I was invited to check out P’Cheen again with some media folks a few weeks ago and tried a number of items. A large smoker sits in front of P’Cheen and is a specialty of theres. I’m still craving their NC mountain trout dip — and the fries. Chef Alex Friedman is a big fan of curry and their curry trio changes quite often.

Their beer and wine list is seasonal and is switched up routinely by owner Keiran Neely and his wife. They recently launched a barbecue night which has drawn raves and I hope to check that out as well!
