Hey y’all! Please pardon the iPhone photos — I’m out in California on vacation and wanted to throw up a few photos up on the blog. The weather is amazing and am having a good time in San Francisco where I’ve visited a few times, and spending some good time in Sonoma wine country with this crazy guy.
I always seem to not leave enough time to check out the great restaurant above, but was able to check it out. The above was a glass of Gruner Veltliner from Austria and it accompanied a pulled duck sandwich ( duck confit, fig & toasted GA peanut relish) & slaw. Tifanie was a great barkeep as well. Tell her I said hi! Highly recommended.
Ferry Building, amazing place with an array of independent shops and food galore — finally made it to the Saturday farmer’s market. More to come.
Chez Panisse in Berkeley, Alice Waters’ restaurant… high expectations — did it delivery? I’ll have more to say…
Although stuffed from a stop at an Indian restaurant before the ride up to Sonoma, I couldn’t resist a stop at this west coast favorite.
A small mini-chain (#3!) of coffee shops in Sonoma – Flying Goat Coffee roasts their own beans & serves great coffee with a touch of latte art I’ve come to love.
People love heading to the northeast in the fall, but I’ve got to say the autumn colors in Sonoma wine country are absolutely breathtaking. This winery had an incredible view I’m looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with some awesome friends here in the wine country, and look forward to sharing you more photos in the weeks to come. Be safe and have a great holiday!
