An enthusiastic crowd descended upon Walnut Grove, GA east of Atlanta on Saturday for the fifth annual Field of Greens festival. The event is a fundraiser for Slow Food Atlanta and was held on the grounds of Whippoorwill Hollow Organic Farm. The event included a farmer’s market, tasting of small plates by farm-to-table chefs from Atlanta and Athens, kids area, chef demos and live music. This was my first time at the event and I had a great time. Kudos to the volunteers and Chef Ron Eyester of Rosebud for putting together a group of top notch chefs. Check out the Slow Food Atlanta website for more information on the organization.
