The end of the world? Have a cocktail

A couple of years ago, Holeman & Finch made a big splash in Atlanta and changed the way many Atlantans thought about cocktails. I certainly learned a lot from the bartenders there, and looked at rum a bit differently as a result.  The folks at Ron Abuelo 12 sent me a pitch about their brand of rum and created a cocktails with Holeman and Finch’s Greg Best. If you, like myself were shut out of the One Eared Stag’s End of the World party, you can try this drink for a spin. If not, this rum also makes a great dark & stormy. I plan on showcasing a number of cocktails in the new year, and I look forward to sharing them. Cheers!

Hic Sunt Dracones (Here Be Dragons)

Created by mixologist Greg Best of Holeman & Finch 

1 1/2 oz Ron Abuelo 12 Años

1/2 oz Yellow Chartreuse

1/2 oz fresh Pineapple juice

1/2 oz fresh Lime juice

1 dash of Bitter Truth Lemon Bitters

1 seeded ring of Jalapeño

Shake all ingredients vigorously in a shaker filled with ice. Double strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a small sprig of spearmint.
