While shuttling around Atlanta picking up treats for the bake sale, I managed to stop by Campagnolo for a quick lunch on Friday. The building at 980 Piedmont has hosted a wide array of restaurants over the years, from Peruvian tapas to a restaurant touting the low carb lifestyle. I had a delightful birthday lunch here last year and unfortunately it’s taken me almost a year to return, but hopefully it won’t take me that long to head back there again.
Executive chef Daniel Chance has had a wealth of experience in restaurants throughout Atlanta including stints at Pricci & Vini Vidi Vici & Campagnolo’s lunch menu includes a variety of sandwiches and pastas. I was in the mood for bolognese and Daniel offered to make a plate of the Lasagna Matta, made with their beef bolognese, bechamel, mozzarella & parmesan.
I enjoyed it thoroughly, along with a sample plate of short rib & Vidalia onions (amazing) destined for a pasta special that night. I’m looking forward to future visits.
