There was a very long stretch in time in between the announcement of Yum Bunz, a fast food Asian inspired restaurant on Atlanta’s Westside and the grand opening this year. I enjoy Guy Wong’s food at Miso Izakaya and have been looking forward to this joint venture at a great price point.
The opening hasn’t been without its share of critics or controversy, but for the most part I’ll leave the critique to the other folks. My favorites have been the barbecue pork bun, pork dumplings, and ginger-spiced chicken bowl and a side of edamame succotash that I had at a media dinner, where the photographs from this blog post were taken.
I’ve been to the restaurant several times but typically without a camera so it was nice to set up camp next to a large window to shoot some food, and then of course dig in. They’ve also acquired a liquor license since I last visited and the frozen mango margaritas were surprisingly tasty.
I’m looking forward to see how the restaurant progresses, I’m curious to see what Taria Camerino comes up with in terms of dessert and they’ve mentioned on Facebook that breakfast buns are on the way.
